Isekai’d Into A Glitch In A Dungeon Game

I’m here to recommend a dungeon-type manhwa that I recently started reading and personally enjoyed so I want other people to read it too. I hope you’ll check it out on legal reading platforms to support the creators so that they can continue to create awesome content! Always remember, piracy is a crime and creators hate it.

Today I’m recommending an action webtoon action manhwa involving dungeons, monsters, leveling up, and all that good stuff that I’m sure you’re already familiar with. But don’t worry. It’s such a fun read to get you into a good mood. It’s not too intense or serious. It’s pretty light-hearted. Pretty fun adventure style that you’ll enjoy going along with. The best part is the manhwa currently has more than 200 episodes and is still ongoing, so that’s a lot of content you can binge on during your free time. And it really is a fun comic to binge on.

I’m talking about Dungeon Reset. It’s available on Tappytoon. The original novel is by Daul and the webtoon adaptation is by Antstudio. The same studio that’s in charge of so many popular webtoons like I Shall Master This Family, The Villainess Turns the Hourglass, The Hero Returns, Unfinished Business, and so much more.

Our main man is Jung Dawoon. His ordinary life turns upside down when he gets summoned into a dungeon where he has to play a deadly game; outlasting dangerous monsters and life-threatening traps. If in Omniscient Reader you have dokkaebis running the scenarios, here you have animals as game assistants leading you through this survival game.

To make matters worse, Dawoon is only a crafter with zero combat abilities. But he’s the main character so of course he’s gonna be more than that. Am I right? And his growth, development, and journey are all worthwhile to see. It’s a fascinating series you should definitely check out. You’ll even learn a thing or two I swear. The best I can describe it, especially for anime fans is it’s like Dr. Stone meets Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill and made a baby, but sci-fi fantasy dungeon style that’s more focused on the art of building and acquiring food ingredients in a world filled with monsters.

So, that’s my pitch for recommending this series. From here on out will be my ramblings about this manhwa which will include spoilers coz I’ll be talking more about this series in depth. If you don’t enjoy spoilers, I don’t recommend getting any further than this. Maybe come back once you’ve read the series yourself. And For those of you who don’t really mind spoilers or those of you who’ve already started reading this series, let’s talk about it.

So, Dawoon gets isekaid into a dangerous game as a crafter which basically means he could craft stuff like materials and weapons. And he also has a purification skill so he’s in charge of making the food since he can purify the dead monsters, craft kitchenware and cook food. Now, at the start of this game, we meet a game assistant which is a talking rabbit. If you’re the type who really focuses on webtoon covers, you would have noticed that this very rabbit is on the cover. And if you’re not new to the webtoon world, I’m sure you already know that they don’t put just anyone on the cover for no reason. Mr Rabbit genuinely reminds me of Bihyung; the way they started off as scary murderous beings to becoming besties with the main character.

Now, in this dungeon, people are summoned or isekaid in intervals, in batches basically. And when it’s time for a new batch, the dungeon resets. The title is very honest. Now, before Dawoon’s batch could get very far, Dawoon falls into a trap and gets left behind sadly. But he doesn’t die immediately. He scrapes up enough time for the group to complete level 1. So they’ve already been through so much but that was only level 1.

Now, the prize for completing a level is complete recovery for all players. Kind of like in Solo Leveling where Jinwoo got his limbs back and was completely healed, but he got this benefit alone. In Dungeon Reset, the whole batch gets this. This is understandable considering you need to be in tip-top shape to challenge a new, higher level. And guess who’s lucky enough to join that train despite being on the verge of death stuck in a trap? You guessed it, our main man Dawoon. He survives but he’s stuck, and his batch has already gone to the next level and the dungeon has reset. So, he becomes a glitch, it’s fascinating really.

And this is where things get fun. This is where I started really resonating with this series. Do you ever imagine yourself taking a powerful test in an anime or a fictional world where you would be stuck on an island with other powerful people and you would need to survive there for a certain amount of days? Do you ever imagine yourself having the power to shape the inside of a mountain into a living place with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom? And you would somehow find a way to really make it like a house that has running water, ventilation, and surveillance. And you would survive like that?

Well, lo and behold, a manhwa that does that but better and systematically at that! Dawoon tries to dig through the whole of a trap he’s stuck in and he ends up getting a dirt manipulation skill and he makes a home in that tunnel. He has rooms, furniture, and everything. He has ingredients in his inventory so he won’t starve just yet. And the rabbit in a suit, the game assistant, goes and checks on him and is like, “What are you doing? Just die!” And he’s constantly wishing Dawoon death and checking up on him every now and then coz he’s a glitch disturbing the system. Disturbing the game. He’s a nuisance apparently. But Mr. Rabbit can’t kill him because he already maxed out the number of people he could kill per batch so it would be against the rules to kill Dawoon.

So, what does he do? He just keeps checking in hoping for Dawoon to do something stupid and die. But instead, Dawoon just keeps acquiring more skills that help him for more food, gain access to water, level up, and all in the comfort of the home he’s built for himself. It’s such a fun concept.

I’ll try to keep it short since it’s a really long ongoing series so it’ll take forever for me to stop yapping and it’s a more enjoyable experience for you to see it and read it with your own eyes.

Dawoon is very productive and hard working, to be honest. Most of the time, when you see something like this in a gaming or action webtoon, they struggle at the beginning but hardly have to do anything later on and everything just sets itself on its own. It does get easier for Dawoon later on and he does get pretty overpowered, but he’s still constantly working and with physical labor at that since he’s a builder. But he likes it, he likes hammering down on things, doing experiments, trial and error, and farming so that he can continue to make life more comfortable for himself and his group.

So, random but oddly helpful skills keep popping up with the adventures he has and the things he does. He messes with the dungeon a lot and basically gets the rabbit fired and acquires him as successor/companion who follows his command and enjoys the crafty food Dawoon makes. He also befriends an adorable ground squirrel somewhere along the way. And the squirrel is so cute because they copy Dawoon’s expression perfectly. So. every panel you see them on, they have the exact same expressions and the squirrel is just so cute.

I really enjoy the cooking aspect of this series. Most of the traps and monsters and fruits, vegetables, and meat that he’s somehow able to transform into Korean food. It’s such a bop. He acquires rice, tofu, and sushi. He even makes sauces. And he eventually gets a new minion who becomes his walking refrigerator. His friends just follow him on the ride, they’re so happy whenever Dawoon cooks.

They struggle so hard in the dungeons but Dawoon is able to provide them good food, heated beddings, hot springs and so much more. The crafting part of the series is also really, really fun. Coz like I said, he’s out here building hot springs, observatories, flying octopuses, I especially love that. The way he used the spirit ashes, I didn’t know where that part was going but when it started forming things I was genuinely impressed. He’s so innovative. And in turn, the author is so innovative.

So if you like these kinds of stories where they recreate everything they had in their previous world on earth unto the unforgiving dungeon they’re stuck in and from scratch at that, you’ll definitely enjoy this one. It’s fun just following along. And like I said, over 200 chapters and still ongoing, so you’ll be able to enjoy it for a while.

So make sure to go check out Dungeon Reset by Daul and Antsudio on Tappytoon, coz it’s always more fun to read it and see the visuals in its entirety. Happy reading!
